More Than 4,000 Attend University of California Virtual Open House at CollegeWeekLive

All 10 UC Campuses Interact Live With Students and Parents via Next-Generation Online Platform at www.CollegeWeekLive.com

Boston, MA October 6, 2009 -- CollegeWeekLive, the world's largest college fair, hosted an online open house for the University of California school system Thursday October 1st. The event, which was free for students, parents and counselors, was attended by more than 4,000 students and parents from all over the world. Participating University of California schools included Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz.

Exhibit Hall at CollegeWeekLive.com The University of California Virtual Open House at CollegeWeekLive offered students and their families an opportunity to get a more in-depth look at the schools before visiting in person, while at the same time affording all 10 University of California campuses a dedicated day to showcase their school with different aspects of student life such as admissions, academics, athletics, financial aid and campus housing presented in an online interactive forum. During the event, over 2,000 students participated in live video chats with currently enrolled students to get a more informal take on collegiate life.

"We were thrilled with the results of our first virtual open house at CollegeWeekLive," said Bob Patterson, Deputy Director, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, University of California, Berkeley. "This event enabled us to provide interested high school students and their families a detailed look at what a UC education is all about through this interactive online platform. The online chat, interactive booths and live video chats were a great way to reach students in California and around the world."

"We were delighted to be able to provide our CollegeWeekLive live virtual college fair platform to the University of California school system," said Robert Rosenbloom, CEO of CollegeWeekLive. "The platform is a great way for individual schools or groups of schools to feature their programs to a broad online audience."
