First Ever Catholic Colleges Online Admissions Event at www.CollegeWeekLive.com Offers Live Chat with Admissions Advisors and Current College Students
Best Buy Schools Not Just for Catholics, See Steady Rise in Enrollment of 15% Since 2001

March 4, 2013 - CollegeWeekLive, the channel where students and colleges meet live online, today announced The Catholic Colleges Fair, a first-ever virtual event held in partnership with The National Catholic College Admission Association (The National CCAA). The free online video event, which is scheduled for Wednesday March 13th from 2:00 to 10:00 PM Eastern, will give students from across the country and around the world an opportunity to learn more about higher education opportunities at The National CCAA member colleges.

Catholic colleges and universities are frequently cited in U.S. News & World Report as "Best Buy" schools, and are consistently cited by the Templeton Foundation as "Character-Building Schools." Students seem to be increasingly recognizing the value of a Catholic college education, as enrollment at Catholic colleges and universities increased by 15.1 percent since 2001. The National CCAA member institutions serve nearly 950,000 students and offer a quality education that is available to those of all denominations, not just Catholics. In fact, an average of 35 percent of undergraduate students at Catholic colleges and universities are not Catholic. [1]

Online attendees will be able to explore the intellectual curiosity, faith, and service that are the foundation of Catholic higher education and will be able to gather firsthand advice from students currently studying at National CCAA member schools via video and text chat. Live text chat with admissions representatives from the University of Notre Dame, the University of San Diego and more than twenty additional Catholic colleges will be available. Students that login and explore the virtual booths or text chat with three or more colleges will automatically be entered into a drawing to win $1,000 to be applied toward college tuition. The agenda of presentations at the Catholic Colleges Fair include video chats with some of the participating schools, such as Depaul University at 3:00 PM Eastern.

"We are delighted to be able to share admissions information and answer any questions students might have on the benefits of a Catholic college education," said Elena Hicks, Dean of Undergraduate Admission at Loyola University Maryland, and current president of The National Catholic College Admission Association. "This virtual format makes it easier for us to reach prospective students, regardless of where they are located."

High school students, counselors or parents interested in logging in to the Catholic Colleges Fair should pre-register for free.
